PROCMURA has intra-Christian and inter-Christian and Muslim programmes. The Intra Christian programme is the core Business of PROCMURA, with the objective of strengthening the capacity of the churches in witness and constructive engagement with Muslims for peace and peaceful co-existence. The inter-Christian and Muslim programmes are aimed at strengthening the capacity of Christian and Muslim religious leaders, women and youth to collaborate and cooperate to attend to issues of mutual concern.
The inter-Christian and Muslim programmes also bring together civil society, secular and state actors to attend to pertinent issues that affect the wider society and to which religion is sometimes implicated. The details of these programmes always come in a strategic plan informed by contemporary emerging issues that require a lot of attention. In the broader sense, however, PROCMURA’s programme focus attends to the following:
PROCMURA constantly recognises enthusiastic men, women, youth and children, from across the religious divides, who have not only played critical roles in, but have also remained committed, to promoting mutual religious tolerance and peaceful co-existence for peace and development.
The Women and Girl Child Empowerment programme acknowledges and appreciates the fact that even though women play a major role in peace building, their participation at high level decision making processes, in some countries around Africa, has remained low yet they are among the main victims of whenever conflicts happen. These conflicts also leave the women and the girl child even more economically vulnerable, something which informed the setting up of PROCMURA Women and Girl Child Empowerment Centres.
PROCMURA through the establishment of “PROCMURA Chapters” in learning institutions is able to address the rise of religious intolerance among youth in institutions. Also, the challenge of religious intolerance is addressed through youth diapraxis activities at community levels. The programme also provides skills development for the youth around the continent.

The Programme for Christian-Muslim Relations in Africa (PROCMURA) Provides relief and assistance to those affected by violent conflict and disaster. We respond to emergency humanitarian situations in terms of food and non-food items. The programme aims to restore the dignity of affected persons, address immediate challenges and provide space for healing and reconciliation.
