This year, PROCMURA is planning a Peace Campaign for the Coast Region of Kenya and would like to mobilise and rally a cross-section of stakeholders in the region to join the Peace Campaign dubbed; "I Stand for Peace” - Coastal Kenya Edition, picking a cue from the "I Stand for Peace" campaign which we launched during the International Peace Day Celebration in 2023 in Nairobi.
The Peace Campaign will be officially launched on Saturday 11th May, 2024 with a Peace Walk which will be flagged off from the KCB Treasury Square at 7:00am. The walk will pass through Mombasa town to end at the Ronald Ngala Primary School where other activities including football and speeches from various leaders, peace actors, participating organizations and stakeholders will take place.
The Campaign is targeting at least 3,000 direct participants from Churches and Mosques, Church leadership from across the continent, Ecumenical and faith-based organizations, institutions of higher learning, government agencies, Corporate, the Media and general community among others.
You can support the campaign and join hands with us to raise awareness of the challenges and issues affecting our communities.
Our goal and objective is to create a culture of Peace in our society and a community that embraces Peace for development. The campaign will go a long way in creating a platform that will bring together various stakeholders and peace actors in the region to address these challenges and more especially in addressing the phenomenon of Radicalization and Violent extremism which continues to destroy the social fabric of our communities.
