The Executive Committee of PROCMURA at its meeting which took place at the PROCMURA Meeting and Conference Centre from 15th - 18th September 2019 unanimously voted for the appointment of Rev. Dr. Adrake as the new General Adviser of PROCMURA.
The Rev. Dr. Adrake Komi Dzinyefa is an ordained Minister of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church of Togo. He holds a Diploma in Theology from the Protestant University of West Africa (UPAO) in Porto Novo, the Republic of Benin, a Bachelor and Master’s degrees in theology from the Protestant University of Central Africa (UPAC) in Yaounde, Cameroon. Dr. Adrake researched for his Doctor in Theology (D.Th) degree specialising in Religious Sciences with a focus on Islam and Christian-Muslim dialogue in UPAC under the supervisorship of Rev. Dr. Hans Haafkens, one time General Adviser of PROCMURA who upon leaving office became a lecturer in UPAC.
During his research for the doctorate, PROCMURA sponsored him to go to the Pontifical Institute for Arabic and Islamic Studies (PISAI) in Rome for one (1) year intensive training to further update his knowledge on Islam and Christian-Muslim relations within the context of the Catholic understanding of Christian-Muslim dialogue.
Dr. Adrake upon the completion of his studies diligently served PROCMURA as Area Adviser for Togo, part time Regional Coordinator of PROCMURA Francophone West Africa, and now full time Regional Coordinator for the same region. Having served PROCMURA in various capacities for over a decade, he has a wealth of knowledge and experience in Christian-Muslim Relations in general and what PROCMURA is and stands for in particular. The positions he held within PROCMURA enabled him to carry out programmes at grassroots levels especially but not exclusively in the French speaking countries of West and Central Africa. Apart from the PROCMURA experience, Dr Adrake has been lecturer in a number of institutions of higher learning one of which is UPAC. His administrative capabilities rest on him having worked as the National Director of Protestant Education of Togo.
Dr. Adrake as the General Adviser will provide leadership at the Central Office and at the same time take charge of consolidating PROCMURA’s work to grassroots while working with other Area Advisers who have been his colleagues over the years to develop an effective implementation matrix of the new five (5) year Strategic Focus (2020).
We in PROCMURA are delighted by the appointment of Rev. Dr. Adrake and are looking forward to moving PROCMURA to greater heights with such an experienced hand. We implore all Partners and Friends of PROCMURA to remember the newly appointed General Adviser in their prayers.
Most Rev. (Dr.) Josiah Idowu-Fearon
PROCMURA Chairperson
