We, the Programme for Christian-Muslim Relations in Africa (PROCMURA), extend our heartfelt congratulations to Rev. Hamadina, the Vice Chairperson of PROCMURA’s Area Committee in Northern Cameroon, on his election as the President of the Council of Protestant Churches of Cameroon (CEPCA).
Rev. Hamadina, who is also a clergy member with the Union of Evangelical Churches in Cameroon, has been part of the PROCMURA family, offered leadership and technical advice at the country level, and immensely contributed to PROCMURA’s efforts in promoting peace and peaceful coexistence between Christians and Muslims in northern Cameroon—a region that has experienced its fair share of the effects of violent and religious extremism.
This significant milestone highlights Rev. Hamadina’s leadership and underscores his firm and longstanding commitment to realising a society where peace and peaceful coexistence thrive irrespective of people’s religious affiliations. His deep understanding of the socio-religious dynamics in the region has been instrumental in strengthening Christian-Muslim relations through the PROCMURA Area Committee in the region, which informs PROCMURA's Vision, Mission and Overall goal.
PROCMURA acknowledges that Rev. Hamadina’s election as CEPCA President marks a momentous occasion for the Protestant churches in Cameroon as they work together to lead the people into the ways of Christ and address matters of national and regional interests. Under Rev. Hamadina’s leadership, PROCMURA believes that CEPCA is poised to strengthen its influence and enhance its contributions to Cameroon’s religious and social wellbeing.
There is no doubt that Rev. Hamdina's election to head CEPCA, which brings together twelve (12) Protestant Churches in Cameroon, is a testament to our shared values. With Rev. Hamadina at the helm of CEPCA, new opportunities arise for collaborative initiatives, ensuring collective efforts for lasting impact between the two institutions.
Once again, we say congratulations Rev. Hamadina!
