PROCMURA Launches its Workplan for the Year 2021 in the Grassroots

There is no doubt that a proper and detailed workplan allows an organized way of doing things giving room for qualitative and quantitative output and is a sure way of tracking the progress of activities in any organization as people work towards realizing both short and long term objectives.
It also offers a proper framework through which each and every activity will be carried out in a more prioritized manner and, as a result, creating a space of proper utilization of time and resources.
It is against this backdrop that the Programme for Christian-Muslim Relations in Africa (PROCMURA) rolled out its well-researched workplan for the year 2021 in a virtual meeting chaired by Country Chairpersons, Area Advisers and Regional Coordinators. Rev. Dr. Josiah Idowu Fearon and attended by Regional coordinators and country Area Advisers. The workplan, which targets increasing the organization’s activities and presence in its grassroot constituencies across Africa in a bottom-up approach, maps out what is to be expected from the Area Committees within the year 2021.
In his address, the General Adviser, Rev. Dr. Komi Adrake, emphasized the important role the Area Advisers, who are technical persons on the ground, will play in ensuring that each Area Committee effectively implement the annual work plan. The Team Leader – Finance and Administration, Ms. Joy Wandabwa, on the other hand, contextualized the organization’s overall implementation strategy in line with the organization’s New Strategic Plan 2020-2024.
The programmmes include Learning and Skills Development, Women and Peace Building, Youth and Religious Tolerance, Conflict Prevention and Peace Building, Freedom of Religion or Belief (FoRB), and PROCMURA Ambassador Recognition.
Under the PROCMURA Ambassador Recognition, for instance, the Regional Coordinators, Area Advisers and Chairpersons are expected to identify persons to be recognized across the various countries in which the organization operates in Africa and, at the same time, share their success stories.
The annual work plan was warmly welcomed by PROCMURA’s technical persons (Area Advisers and Regional Coordinators) among other key stakeholders such as the Chairpersons, General Secretaries and country contact persons. It clarifies the specific tasks and outcomes that are expected of the regional and country leaders paving way for commitment and accountability even as they set their own measurable objectives and benchmarks by sharing of experiences from their different countries.
In their analysis of the new 2021 workplan, the Regional Coordinators, just as the Area Advisers, analyzed the implementation strategies of the various programmes and activities in relation to their own contexts and committed to sharing their action plans with the Central Office for consolidation.
On the other hand, the staff at the Central Office also had a session with the management led by PROCMURA General Adviser, Rev. Dr. Komi Adrake, on the new annual workplan. The staff presented what is expected from their respective department in relation to the annual workplan and Strategic Plan 2020-2024.
PROCMURA is fully alive to the need and importance of having in place a well thought-out and detailed workplan as it offers an opportunity to not only organize one’s thoughts as staff, but also evaluate their progress and options while, at the same time, crafting effective and efficient ways to deal with possible challenges in the course of programme implementations.
