PROCMURA Covid-19 Report
PROCMURA’s Intervention in the Wake of the COVID-19 Pandemic
The report describes how PROCMURA translated its commitment to diapraxis—people of different faiths working together on shared concerns—into food assistance, sanitation facilities, protective masks and public-health awareness. It also records related responses initiated by PROCMURA Area Committees in other African countries.
PROCMURA’s response combined humanitarian assistance with Christian-Muslim cooperation, demonstrating that practical action on shared needs can strengthen trust and affirm our common humanity.

Selected Intervention Highlights
Masks for Children
Five thousand washable face masks were handed to the Kamukunji Community Peace Network for distribution among children.
Handwashing Points
Six handwashing stations were installed at strategic community locations, supported with sanitiser, soap and awareness messages.
Responses in Five Countries
The report records humanitarian and awareness activities in Kenya, Togo, Liberia, Sierra Leone and Ghana.
How the Intervention Worked
- PROCMURA consulted local government and community structures before implementing activities.
- Christians and Muslims participated in and benefited from the intervention without discrimination.
- Food packages were distributed to pre-identified vulnerable households in Kamukunji.
- Community groups were entrusted with maintaining handwashing stations and promoting regular hand hygiene.
- Health messages were shared through T-shirts, drums, flyers, stickers, bags and radio programmes.
- Area Committees mobilised churches, congregations and local partners to provide food, sanitation items and public information.
Diapraxis in a Time of Crisis
The report shows how practical cooperation can advance Christian-Muslim relations. By responding jointly to hunger, hygiene and health concerns, participants experienced solidarity across religious lines. The intervention also demonstrated the value of working through local peace networks, religious leaders, government agencies and community organisations.
