Annual Report 2022
The report documents PROCMURA’s work across its African constituencies during a year in which the easing of COVID-19 restrictions enabled greater physical programme implementation and renewed engagement with churches, communities and partners.
The report highlights progress in Christian-Muslim relations, women and girl-child empowerment, youth engagement, conflict prevention, peacebuilding and freedom of religion or belief.

Selected 2022 Highlights

Church Leadership
At least 100 church leaders strengthened their capacity in Christian-Muslim relations across PROCMURA constituencies.

Youth Peace Ambassadors
At least 500 young people were trained and commissioned as peace ambassadors in different countries.

University Engagement
PROCMURA chapters supporting interreligious cooperation were established in 10 universities.
Additional Milestones
- A partnership agreement was established with Stefanus Alliance International.
- A continental platform was launched to address emerging Christian-Muslim relations issues.
- Women’s empowerment centres supported vulnerable Christian and Muslim women and girls in South Sudan and Kenya.
- Interreligious community peace networks were established in Nigeria, Cameroon and Kenya.
- A Sub-Saharan Africa network for freedom of religion or belief trainers was launched.
- Youth peace ambassadors became peer educators and community peace actors.
