|It is a well known fact that the HIV/AIDS pandemic is one of the greatest human disaster situations that the world has ever faced. It is well documented that Africa has faced and continue to face most of the consequences of this pandemic.
Since religious beliefs and actions or inactions can prevent or even promote the spread of the virus, the Women’s Programme deems it most appropriate to make the subject a prime factor in all that it does. As a result of this, experts in the field of HIV/AIDS prevention and management, as well as religious leaders, are often invited to make presentations in all our joint programmes. Discussions on methods to combat the spread of the virus, avoid stigmatisation and support people in their communities who are infected and affected with the virus often form the climax of these joint programmes.
