Archive & Library Development

Researching in the Archive PROCMURA in its ore thanfifty-year history has a wealth of material scattered all over Africa where PROCMURA has been in existence for many years and in some libraries and archives in Europe and North America.Currently, there is sizeable archive material already housed at the Central Office, Nairobi. Preliminary work has already been carried out on the existing material. It is hoped that once the archive is fully worked on, it will  form a valuable resource for students and researchers alike.

Archives necessarily go with a library since the former deals with the past and the latter has a lot to do with the contemporary situation.

PROCMURA envisages a situation where it can add to its traditional role of promoting Constructive Christian engagement with Muslims at the grass root level, with being a resource centre for professional and lay researchers on Islam and Christian and Muslim relations in Africa. As a result of our growing profile, academicians, politicians, social scientist etc. come to our office seeking information on Islam and Christian-Muslim relations. PROCMURA has embarked on establishing a modest reference and research library to serve its constituencies and eventually the wider society.
